Impact of intraoperative spillage of mature cystic teratoma during laparoscopic cystectomy

Laparoscopic cystectomy for mature cystic teratoma is widely performed, but there no certainty about the risk of developing chemical peritonitis due to intraoperative spillage. We retrospectively reviewed 148 cases laparoscopic ovarian in five years (2016-2020) our hospital. The spillage rate was 76.3%, and incidence 2.7%. In spillage, occurred more frequently patients whose tumor contents spread upper abdomen, even after adequate washing. conclude that it important prevent leakage into abdomen because affects development peritonitis.
